On Wednesday, 20 August, Plastics SA hosted their annual Gauteng Training Information-Sharing Breakfast, and PtSA was honoured to be invited. Representing PtSA were Charl Labonte, Francois Beetge and Ruann Grobbelaar, who joined industry peers for a morning dedicated to collaboration, learning, and networking.
The programme opened with a hearty breakfast, setting the tone for a morning of meaningful discussions. Attendees were welcomed by Isaya Ntuli, Plastics SA’s Gauteng Regional Manager, who emphasised the importance of continuous engagement across industries.
Inspiring Insights
Guest speaker Hlanganani Matjeke, Managing Director of Maggie Matjeke Mhoila & Associate, shared her personal journey and highlighted the critical role of mentorship in the workplace. Her talk underscored how mentorship not only develops individuals but strengthens the industry as a whole.
Following this, Kirtida Bhana, Training Executive at Plastics SA, delivered the National Update. She reinforced the message that skills development must be seen as an investment rather than a compliance exercise, a theme that resonates strongly with PtSA’s own mission to advance the tooling industry through training and skills initiatives.
Lucky Draws, Networking & Gratitude
Adding a touch of fun, lucky draws were held throughout the session, with winners walking away with training vouchers, cooler boxes, and trash bins, sponsored by Plastics SA and Pioneer Plastics.
For PtSA, the event was more than just an information session, it was an opportunity to connect with the Plastics Processing industry, a sector closely aligned with the Tool, Die and Mould (TDM) sector. Strengthening these cross-industry relationships supports shared growth and development.
A heartfelt thank you to the Plastics SA team for their warm hospitality and for creating a space where industries can come together. PtSA looks forward to building on these connections and continuing to champion skills development as a driver of competitiveness.
