From 22–24 July 2025, the PtSA Centre of Excellence, KwaZulu-Natal, proudly participated in the prestigious KITE Expo, thanks to the generous support of the Montgomery Group and Mr. Steven Burmeister, who provided us with a complimentary stand.
With over 4,000 buyers, business owners, and industry professionals in attendance, the PtSA stand was a hive of activity. Regional Manager Brian Cunniffe, supported by our lecturing, administration, and student teams, engaged visitors, answered multiple enquiries, and represented the future of South Africa’s tooling industry with pride.
Students Steal the Show
Our students stood out in their smart PtSA uniforms, drawing attention from both visitors and even the event’s radio DJ, who announced how professional they looked. Beyond appearances, they impressed with their curiosity and enthusiasm, interacting with exhibitors, asking questions, and gaining hands-on exposure to the latest CNC, CAD, laser cutting, additive manufacturing, and 4IR solutions.
Building Awareness & Excitement for Toolmaking
The exhibition not only generated strong interest in PtSA but also helped raise awareness of the vital role toolmaking plays in manufacturing. Many business owners expressed a willingness to support, while students walked away inspired and motivated to pursue careers in the TDM sector.
The event was a resounding success, and it was deeply rewarding to watch our students engage, learn, and grow through this exposure. We are incredibly proud of their efforts and grateful to be part of an organisation that is shaping lives and strengthening South Africa’s TDM sector.
