PtSA KwaZulu-Natal held its Regional Networking Event on 23 October 2026, bringing together industry members and stakeholders for an opportunity to connect, share insights and elect the region’s new Executive Committee (EXCO).

Welcoming the Newly Elected KZN Leadership

PtSA congratulates Allan Connolly of Somta on his re-election as KwaZulu-Natal Regional Chair, together with the newly elected EXCO members:

  • Allan Connolly (Somta) – PtSA Regional Chair KwaZulu-Natal

  • Joann Govender (Defy)

  • Blake Faulkner (Jasco Manufacturing Solutions)

  • Lee Williams (Retecon)

  • Rex Monda (Ogihara SA)

The committee will play an important role in representing regional industry interests, strengthening collaboration and supporting initiatives that advance the TDM sector.

PtSA wishes the newly elected EXCO every success and looks forward to their continued contribution to the growth and development of the region’s manufacturing industry.

Industry Collaboration and the Importance of Skills Development

The event also featured an insightful presentation by Rex Monda of Ogihara SA, who discussed the significance of the company’s new facility and the opportunities it presents for the local manufacturing industry.

He highlighted the importance of industry partnerships and skills development, encouraging larger companies to collaborate with local manufacturers to strengthen South Africa’s TDM and manufacturing sectors.

PtSA Group CEO, Tapiwa Samanga, reinforced the critical role of tooling in supporting the country’s manufacturing capabilities. He emphasised that without a strong tooling sector, South Africa risks further de-industrialisation, highlighting the need for continued investment in local skills, technology and industry development.

Strengthening Industry Through Networking

PtSA Networking Events provide valuable opportunities for industry professionals to connect, exchange knowledge and build relationships that encourage collaboration and support the growth of the manufacturing sector.

A special thank you goes to Magnum Precision Tools for fully sponsoring the event and supporting this valuable opportunity for industry engagement and networking.

PtSA congratulates the newly elected KwaZulu-Natal EXCO and looks forward to another productive chapter of industry collaboration, skills development and regional growth.
